Spring

Tomorrow marks the first official day of Spring. Anyone who knows me well, knows that Spring is my favorite time of year, despite the itching eyes and sneezing =) Everything is blooming and greening up. Everything seems new and fresh again. I know it sounds cheesy, but I always feel like there is "hope" in the air during this time of year. Spring is such a reminder to me of God's faithfulness. No matter how harsh or long the winter has been...the flowers and trees have never ceased to bud and bloom.

Isaiah 61:11
"For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations."

I took these pictures at the farm last week. I'd love to know the name of the 1st flower...does anyone know it?

Is this a tree or a bush on the first pic ? It actually has flowers like a pink dogwood... We have a bush called a red twig dogwood... it is by the garage if you remember. I will look it up tonight for you. Did you use your camera for these ?... the pics are beautiful. I can't believe how much farther along you all are with the flowers and trees blooming... I will be celebrating Spring with you dear.

I have to tell you, I get excited to read your blog everyday! I miss having you next door=)

I like your pictures at first I thought you just found them online! they are very pretty, my guess was some sort of dogwood too.

Before I even read the other comments, I thought it was in the dogwood family. I don't say that to say I have some great knowledge...just to give you my "unbiased" guess....before I read everyone elses. So...I think it is a type of dogwood or in the dogwood family. It's on a tree, am I correcT? (this is Kelly, not Smooth)

I'm gonna go with Franklinia Alatamaha also known as the Franklin Tree. It's more like a shrub-tree than a tree.
