That's how much we shop-vac'd out of our basement this morning thanks to tropical storm Hanna.
We now have a water-detractor company at our house doing their magic.
We are scheduled to get all new carpet on Monday...for the 2nd time in four months! We might never get rid of the new carpet smell at this rate =)

Oh man!!! How frustrating? I'm sorry to hear this. So is there a way to stop the basement from flooding? I remember as a kid getting our house "waterproofed". They dug a trench around our whole house and then did something to keep the water from coming in. Before my parents did that our basement would do the same thing.
Why does it flood so badly??
The 1st time it flooded was because our hot water heater burst a pipe...it wasn't weather related. This time it was because of the 5inches of rain we got in one night =) We have a plumber coming tomorrow to hopefully seal up the area it was coming in. I hope it works, cause that is a lot of work! =)
oh goodness i know how you feel!! flooding is just no fun at all
