Seeing as how our "formal" school is back in session starting tomorrow I thought I needed to give an update on our Summer of fun list that we started back in June. Here goes:
Go to a baseball game.
Roast smore's.
Have a lemonade stand.
Make an outside obstacle course.
Go to the beach.
Make a movie.
Go camping.
Make a tool box.
Throw a block party.
Tie-dye.
Read 100+ books (Ella's goal)
Keep a summer journal.
Map our neighborhood.
See fireworks.
Make homemade ice-cream.
Learn the alphabet in sign-language.
Fly a kite.
Catch lightning bugs.
Make up "God loves you" bags for the homeless and give them out.
Get sno-cones at Pelican's sno-balls.
See a movie at a theatre.
Go hiking.
Make orange juice.
Go to an amusement park.
Pick blueberries.
Plant flowers.
Camp out.
Make homemade bread.
Go to a local VBS.
Ride a slip-and-slide.
Write 10 letters to friends and family.
Play with sparklers.
Ride a slip-and-slide.
Do a sewing project.
The type A perfectionist in me is all tied up in knots that not everything is crossed off. But when I look back through all the pictures I took of this summer I realize that we really did have a summer filled with fun.
Filled.
Overflowing, even?
And I'm good with that.
