Haiti: Day 1

Despite some travel delays...we are here!

Everyone is doing great and it has been an overwhelming (in a good way) first day:

We got to experience a Haitian rooftop church service where Jeremiah did an incredibile job (no small feat working through an interperter) preaching on the contrast of the lives of Joseph and Saul. A king who became a nobody and a nobody who became a king.

The worship and music and prayers and spirit of the people were incredibly moving. The Holy Spirit supercedes any language barriers.

Lunch at Sherry's (the school and orphanage director) then a humbling walk through downtown Port-au-Prince's ravine town.

Back to the orphanage to spend the afternoon with the children.

I won't lie. They have stolen our hearts already.

Tonight we are organizing the supplies we brought down to distribute to the missionaries than an early bedtime. We learned that morning comes very early here in Haiti thanks to the roosters that roam the city and start their day at 4am!

Thank you all for your prayers!

p.s. Internet (and electrictity and water too!) are sketchy here so, I can't guarantee any more posts this week...but I'll try!

Great to hear an update.. the kids are doing great here! Ezra did not want us to help him at all in the pool. He even just slid in all by himself with the floatys on with no problem.. when we offered to hold him or push him in the rings.. he'd have no of it...Ella right now is dancing to a high school musical dvd we got for the girls party last nite... she is so funny. Both took long naps today... and are doing well.
