We had fun last week with a venture into nutrition during our homeschooling.
We learned about healthy and unhealthy foods, the differences between fruits and vegetables, the food pyramid, and making good choices to take care of the body God has given us. Our field trip was to the grocery store where they got to choose our fruits and veggies for the week. I let Ella choose one food she had never tried before: coconut. And let's just say...it was not a big hit and probably won't be repeated again in this house, at least in the shell! We used raisins as a math manipulative and graphed what Ella ate one day. We read "Eating the Alphabet" and Ella made up her own book of foods she likes.
