Fun in the Sack, A Research Project

Ok, now that I have everyone's attention with that title, I need to let everyone know that I am not Jenn. I am her adoring and adorable husband. Its early, bear with me and my sarcasm.

As many of you know, Jenn has recently posted about our "Graduation" from a Full size bed to a King size bed. I have to admit, its pretty incredible. Like a "where have you been all my life" kind of incredible. I swear Cherubim sing every time I lay down in it.

As incredible as it is having a bed go wall-to-wall in our tiny "Master Suite", it has caused us to question a few things. One of these questions (OK, its really the only only question) is whether or not the size of the bed a couple has correlates to the number of kids said couple has.

Our hypothesis goes a little something like this. "The smaller the bed, the more children a couple generally has. The larger the bed, the more likely it is for the couple to forget each other's names and have to reintroduce themselves periodically."

So we need a little help to publish this in Scientific Weekly and get our Today show interview, if you could comment with the following information it would give us something to laugh at.

We need the sizes of beds you have had as a couple, the number of children you currently have or will have, and the size of bed you had when you had kids. Thanks!

We had a king when we had our first, moved down to a queen and had our second and third, moved back to a king and adopted our fourth and fifth! I think it's a great research project, but for those of us who co-sleep with our kids when they're young...there's nothing better than a big bed! ;0)

Don't worry, you'll find each other again!

King sized - one child (so far) in 5.5 years...

We too started our married life in a full size bed. One year later, we upgraded to a king, and we've never looked back. We have 3 kids, and although we don't co-sleep, we have tickle time, so the space is nice. The only downside: sleeping anywhere away from home. It's amazing how much smaller the full and queen will seem once you are used to a king.

Haha - you guys are too funny! We've always had a queen, two kids later, we still have a queen. Hope this helps with your research ;)

*P.S. I have to admit that after sleeping in King beds in hotels, I'm always secretly glad to get back to our smaller bed because I feel like we're sleeping in different zip codes in a King (Andy, on the other hand, LOVES it - he's such a non-cuddler-while-sleeping kind of guy!)

We had a full size bed the first five years and one child. We then went to a king bed and had four more children. We didn't have any trouble finding each other. We now have 12 grandchildren and still sleep in our king size bed.

We started off with a queen, moved to work at a camp in Appalachia and had two camp matresses (yes with the plastic cover) pushed together for at least 6 months. We moved back to the queen when we got a house. We had 3 children while having the queen, and like you, my parents gave us a king just this year... Don't know I could go back... I am ruined!

hahaha....cracks me up! We have and always have had a Queen. We have two kids and are 99% sure we will not have anymore.

This is hilarious. Really.

We started with a queen and (quickly)had 2 children (how does that happen again?). About 3 weeks before #3 was born we upgraded to a king. We are now starting the process to adopt #4, but unfortunately I don't think they make a bed bigger than the one we've got...

Full=two kids. Of course the whole co-sleeping thing ruined any more chances :)

I am single with a Queen and 1 child. She sleeps half the night with me despite having her own bed (twin). Not sure if I am done but would still keep my queen size bed.

We've always had a queen size and we have 3 kids and one on the way, if you count adopted ones:)

We've always had a full and we have five kids. This year we got a queen. :D

We have a queen and three bio kids (although #3 came along after an enforced stint with a double) and 2 adopted. We've also had several foster kids.

Well... we started with a full (5 bio.) went to a queen ( had 1 bio.) and just 5 yrs ago went to a king and had ( 21 children) - No rhyme or reason to this for us :)We never have a problem finding each other and many times we have a kid or grandkid between us...but we would not have it any other way :)

Seriously, this is too funny. We have a queen, but started off with a full. We currently only have one kid, thus far. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter the size of bed because I'm fairly certain he came after a stint on the floor on a ski trip. Who know what our queen will bring us or how many???? Don and I just talked about this yesterday :)

We've always had a queen and the kid count has (I think) stopped at 4. BTW, I don't think a smaller bed would make us closer...we DESPISE sleeping together in smaller beds!

We started marriage 8 years ago with a queen. We still have it. It is hard as a brick and I can't wait to get a new mattress. But that's besides the point. We have 3 kids, and want more. However...Don't forget that the 'fun' doesn't just always happen in the 'sack...' So, your research may be thrown off a little bit if you take that into account!!

Full, King, Full. Three kids 4 and under :)
