Proverbs 25:28 Like a city without walls, so is a man without self-control.
I decided to take a break from our normal "school" this week with Ella and instead we have been learning all about our emotions and feelings...
Happy, sad, angry, surprised, frustrated...it seems that the closer we approach the age of 3 the more intense these emotions become in her.
We have been really working hard on teaching her the concept of being self-controlled.
We want her to know that it is ok to get angry, but not ok to lose our self-control and push our brother. That it is ok to be sad that she isn't getting something she wanted, but that it is not ok to lose our self-control and whine for it...and on and on...
We want her to understand her emotions and the names for them, so, we...
Have drawn lots of faces...happy faces, sad faces, mad faces, surprised faces...
and captured on camera all kinds of faces that show how we are feeling...
We role-played different scenarios to practice self-controlled ways of handling our emotions...hehe, that was pretty fun =)
And last, we did a fun and easy pumpkin craft...showing more faces =)
