Ella loves stories.
Included into our nighttime routine every night is story time.
We thought we should take advantage of her love of stories and make all the stories told this week about what happened during resurrection week.
We prefaced everything by explaining that what made this story so special...is that it is TRUE and really did happen. No pretending.
Despite the lack of fairy princesses or magical forest creatures, she has listened earnestly to every story. Obviously, we didn't glorify the violence in the story, but neither did we leave it out. Instead, we just used age appropriate language for her.
Then this morning we read various passages from Luke 19 and acted out the Triumphal Entry in our own way...complete with our "version" of a donkey and palm leaves =)
